Description:  Embark on a food journey with us in this six-week series at The Edible Schoolyard. We’ll plant and harvest ingredients from the garden, and your child will build essential kitchen skills as we learn simple fresh recipes you can make at home.

9/21: Roots - Dig root vegetables in the garden, learn to prepare them in the kitchen, and play root vegetable bingo. 

9/28: Eggs - Harvest eggs from our chicken house and cook them in a simple garden-inspired recipe. 

10/5: Fruit - Discover fall fruits in the garden and prepare tasty fruit recipes.

10/12: Leaves - Explore leaves that we eat and how to prepare these nutritious plants. 

10/19: Grain - Learn to identify grain and grind fresh flour to use for a delicious treat. 

Please note, this is a drop-off program.  

Dates:  Thursdays from September 14 - October 19

Time:    3:45 p.m. - 5:15 p.m.

Ages:    6 to 8 years

Class Fee:    Each Class - $17 members, $17 non-members 

Class fee includes admission to the Greensboro Children’s Museum for the participant and one adult on the day of the class. 

Drop-Off:  Yes.  If you would like to stay nearby, there are a couple of seating areas inside the Museum. The class instructor can guide you to a comfortable and convenient area to wait.

Should a need or emergency arise during the class, GCM staff will call you over the PA system first or call you on the phone numbers provided if you are off-site.
