description: Ages 3-5 are taking over the kitchen to combine reading and food in this 6-week series. Using stories as inspiration, learners will use fresh ingredients from the Museum's half-acre garden, The Edible Schoolyard, to create kid-friendly dishes they'll love making and eating. Each week will feature a different book and story:

  • Monsters Don't Eat Broccoli by Barbara Jen Hicks (on the menu: Creamy White Bean Dip with Broccoli Trees)
  • Pizza at Sally's by Monica Wellington (on the menu: Mini Pizzas)
  • If You Give a Moose a Muffin by Laura Numeroff (on the menu: Sweet Potato Mini Muffins)
  • Pigs Love Potatoes by Anika Denise (on the menu: Roasted Root Vegetable Fries)
  • Pumpkin Soup by Helen Cooper (on the menu: Pumpkin Soup & Roasted Pumpkin Seeds)
  • Gingerbread Baby by Jan Brett (on the menu: Gingerbread Boy/Girl Cookies)
