Book & Cook (3-5)

Description:  Each week, we'll meet in The Edible Schoolyard Kitchen Classroom to combine children’s literature and food. Using the story as inspiration, your kids will use fresh ingredients to create kid-friendly snacks they'll love making and eating.

1/9:  Apple Farmer Annie by Monica Wellington
On the menu:  apple muffins

1/16:  Pigs Love Potatoes by Anika Denise
On the menu:  oven baked fries with fresh herbs

1/23:  Monsters Don’t Eat Broccoli by Barbara Jen Hicks
On the menu:  creamy white bean dip with broccoli trees

1/30:  Pumpkin Pumpkin by  Jeanne Titherington
On the menu:  maple roasted pumpkin seeds

2/6:   Soup Day by  Melissa Iwai
On the menu:  snowy day vegetable soup

2/13: The Apple Pie that Papa Baked by Lauren Thompson 
On the menu: individual apple crisps

Time:    3:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Ages:    3 to 5 years

Class Fee:    Series of 6 Classes - $60 members, $72 non-members (register below)

Class fee includes admission to the Greensboro Children’s Museum for the participant and one adult on the day of the class. 

Drop-Off:  Yes.  If you would like to stay nearby, there are a couple of seating areas inside the Museum. The class instructor can guide you to a comfortable and convenient area to wait.

Should a need or emergency arise during the class, GCM staff will call you over the PA system first or call you on the phone numbers provided if you are off-site.
